Please help us to support Alexandra and her six adopted children as she tries to rebuild her life in an aftermath of a painful divorce.
It is not often that you meet a person as kind as Alexandra. Alexandra and her then-husband over the course of seven years adopted six young children, now ages 3-7, from a Russian orphanage. All of the children were born to HIV-positive mothers (fortunately, none of the kids inherited the HIV virus), however all of them have other medical issues, ranging from developmental delays to renal aplasia and hepatitis C. They were unlikely to be adopted in Russia where healthier, more readily adoptable children languish in orphanages. The orphanages sadly are short staffed and not well equipped to deal with complex medical issues these children have, so their future looked bleak.
Once adopted by Alexandra and her husband and brought to the US, the children flourished. Their health improved, their developmental delays gave way to considerable physical and mental progress due to the loving care of their new family.
Unfortunately it was too much for Alexandra's husband to handle so she is the one to raise kids by herself now without any support from him including financial . Alexandra currently cannot work outside of home because the six children ranging from age three to age seven need extensive care due to special needs and lingering health issues. But she is working as hard as she can to keep her children and raise them in a loving family, even if she is to do it alone.
To stay afloat financially, she is ready to move on and to move out of California to Arizona,
to be closer to her friends who are raising adopted children from Russia as well. Their support and community of other adoptive families combined with lower cost of living in a small rural Arizona town, will make it easier for her to care for her children.
However this transition requires the money they don’t have, so a group of her friends stepped in with an idea to raise the required funds. We hope that you can help this family in any way you can.
In Alexandra's own words “My life was shattered, but I will never give up or give up my children. They are my life and I will do everything to give them care and love they need. Unfortunately, I do not have enough money to do it all by myself. I sincerely thank you for every dollar you may donate. You keep my faith in all the good people in the world!”
