The infrastructure is very old and needs to be updated....
and - i am not into "chicks" and a lot of guys here are gays...
2. Tons of well paid jobs. Exposure to financial world.
agree... the only real reason to be here, imho.
3. Brighton - whenever you want a shot of your culture, go there and enjoy, if you will. Couple of Russian restorants in Manhattan. Vodka Room. Russian Samovar. 52/8.
i am sorry, but this is
not my culture

. I've been in Brighton beach only 1 or 2 times in the number of years i've lived in NJ.
4. Lots of russian speaking people.
hm. if my goal was to be around russian-speaking people, i'd live in Moscow.
5. Climate! you can have snow and not for too long. Summer is hot,but not as in GA.
climate is ok, but i prefer warmer climates....
6. Ocean. You really can enjoy it from june till late october.
??? yeah, you can "enjoy" it with millions of other people. Tough to get there, tough to get out of there. roads are always clogged with traffic
7. Real Estate is affordable. I would buy a condo with a view on Manhattan. 500K - awesome 2br/2bth in West New York( still NJ). Guttenberg is good as well.
affordable? you must be kidding.

NYC is one of the least affordable places to buy a property, as indicated by below average rates of homeownership
8. Flight to Moscow, Kiev.....9 hours.
not interested....have been there already
9. People undersdtand russian accent. In GA some rednecks and African Americans will curve faces and ask "What....?". I HATE THAT!
they do it in NYC too... not as much as in Midwest, but it depends where you work. In the field of high finance/executives, there are not that many people who speak with accents. There are some, but not that many. So you may still get a surprised look and a "What..?" question.
