In many mall or company parking places of the Bay Area if you leave any trace of GPS usage (just a round line on a windshield) robbers will brake instantly in your car. That happend twice at our company parking in Milpitas and San Jose and I saw several times on malls. A SJ Mercury article said more hundred cases officially registered in a year. I keep my GPS in the trank when park.
