telphin ? Not as advertised!!!!
1) The billing system is scary as you pay through some third party website to whomever overseas.
2) When you access your account through telphin.com you can’t find when you paid, how much, for what and when is your next payment due. You get however email remainder.
3) It is not unlimited as advertised. What they told me in an email; “we have telphin Breaker which cut off line, when length of 1 call is more 30-32 minutes.”
So try to resolve a problem with let say airlines when there is something wrong with your airline ticket. Every 30 minutes telphin cuts you off so you need to redial and you get connected to a different airline agent and you need to start from the beginning. After 30 minutes your call is terminated again and every time!
4) Some hardware that they say they support is not supported. Some hardware has trouble with registering so before every call you need to power cycle the adapter to get a dial tone. They told me that this is a well known bug and advised me to go to google.com to research. Funny is that my other service on the same adaptor works just fine.
5) Incoming calls are not possible with some hardware as the adapter is not registered most of the time. See 4)
6) Cust. support started to ignore my emails when I inquired more information about problems mentioned above.
7) My wife told me that the phone doesn’t work since Friday. It is Saturday and I dialed the toll free number. The guy told me to email them as he is “terrible busy” and talking to “other customers”.
So I emailed them and very quickly got this response “>> Hello, ozvena.
>>
>> Your account was temporarly blocked, please contact your manager via

>> or mail: telsales@telphin.com.”
So I did email them and got this replay ” Çäðàâñòâóéòå, ozvena.
Âû ïèñàëè 2 èþëÿ 2005 ã., 18:35:07:” Can somebody please translate it to English?
I called the international number paying for every minute and I was told that I was suspected from re-selling this service and that is why my phone line was blocked. He told me that he doesn’t have people to investigate and the earliest they can look at the account is Monday.
To summarize:
1) Not an unlimited service
2) Customer service is terrible
3) Not all hardware works despite the fact that is listed on their page.
To give you little bit of a background. My wife is raising two kids and she is the only one using the phone during the week. I call my parents on weekends. That is it!

7.2 We offer flat rate calling plans which include 1500 minutes of usage - calls on all directions available in appointed calling plan. If you exceed this limit, you will be charged the second monthly fee.
T.e их unlimited plan включает 50 минут разговора в день.
