Dear landlord,

Recently, I got a letter saying that upon some business reasons my rent would be increased up to 805 USD per month.

I have run some research and found number of apartment in the nearest area with the similar size, features, location, etc but with lower rent. My job (my wife does not work) does not require me to live in this particular apartment, so under the fact that I drive to Seattle downtown every day, I can live in any other location of our great Bellevue.

So, if I move on to another apartment, I will get even lower rent than I have right know, some of the apartments will provide me one month free, plus I will get 100 dollars refund from rent.com. Please make sure, that the initial research has been performed on internet with the phone calls only. I am planning to drive around this weekend and see what other apartments that are not published on internet have openings. 
Please make sure, that in the same time, new apartment will be provided with new or professionally vacuumed carpet, new appliances, cleaned bathroom and peel-free bathtub, etc.

I also would like to mention, that security level in Yellobrigde has become very low for the last year. Some of the cars including my own, parked near my building have been under robbery. Stereo, radar, etc have been stolen from my car. These cases have become every month events, and recently a car of one of our neighbors was stolen. I have to notice that in spite of multiple crime cases which took place at Timberwood Apartments the management of it has not done enough to improve this situation and prevent its tenants from future crimes!

So, everything mentioned above, plus detailed information for almost 15 apartment complexes that I attached for your convenience, strongly suggest me to force Yellobrigde Apartments to keep my current rent the same as it is 790 USD per month, and as a loyal tenant ask you to provide free professional vacuum cleaning for my apartments where we have been living without such professional service for 24 months as well as repainting the bathtub. 

If for some reasons my suggestion is not accepted and approved, please let me know, and I will leave you move out notice.

а почему бы Вам не дать это письмо почитать другу американцу? он - то сможет исправить ошибки.

мое мнение: как-то смешно все это выглядит, когда яйцо учит курицу. Landlord - хозяин, хочет поднимает цену, хочет снижает. Не нравится постояльцам, могут съехать, другие найдутся.

Уважаемый Captain Blood, это письмо нужно заново переписывать. Честно признаться, мне лень. Прошу прощения, я уже надорвалась на переписке с одной фирмой.

Я бы не стал, не зная ситуации, судить о целесообразности письма как такового. Есть места, где до 30% апартментов пустуют - и там тоже людям пытаются поднять рент. Я знаю успешные случаи торговли (в смысле negotiations) при продлении договора. Лэндлорд хоршо знает свои убытки от потери жильца - уверяю вас, они ненулевые...

Письмо, конечно, надо переписать полностью. Что-нибудь в таком духе будет гораздо более читабельным ( а значит, эффективным). Не пинайте очень - написано на скорую руку, возможны грамматические и стилистические ошибки.

I have recently received a notification about an increase of my rent up to $805/month. My research of the local housing market shows that I can easily rent a comparable apartment for a better price, especially considering various move-in incentives that most places are offering (samples attached). Additionally if I choose to move I will be moving into a newly renovated apartment.

However being a loyal tenant for 2 years I would like to offer you to sign a new lease agreement if you agree to the following two conditions:  the rent should remain the same as before at $790/month, and the apartment should receive professional carpet cleaning and bathtub resurfacing services at your expense.

Please let me know whether my offer is acceptable.  I am looking forward to hearing from you very soon.

Вы автомитически проспорили. Ибо у меня есть пример, когда я отбился от повышения рента (буквально 3 месяца назад). Причём мне даже письмо лень было писать - я распечатал рекламу своих же аратментов с apartmentguide и изложил примерно то же самое что и captain blood на словах клерку. оне посовещались и через пару дней сказали, что мол я могу платить month-by-month ту же сумму, что я платил на годовом лизе...

Кстати, местами (кое-где) имеются законы штата на тему того, что апартменты не имеют права поднимать лиз "от балды". Например, в Массачусеттсе нельзя поднимать лиз более чем на X% в год (значение X я не помню). В Калифорнии, по моему, цена должна быть "рыночной". И распечатка с апартментгида является подтверждением того, что повышенная цена не является "рыночной" (на счёт калифорнии в целом не уверен - это может быть и графство или даже город...)

Отсутсвие у ВАС опыта по отбиванию от повышения лиза не означает, что такового опыта нет ни у кого...

хотела ответить но Рем уже все очень красиво написал. Воспользуйтесь письмом Рема. Там не только англ язык полусчше но и смысл изложен более профессионально что ли.. на языке бизнеса а не на языке обычного письма которое мы пишем родственникам.

если вокруг есть secured apartments за 805, зачем так держаться за unsecured за 790? вещи перевезти лень?
