Honey Bunny: I love you, Pumpkin.
Pumpkin: I love you, Honey Bunny.
Pumpkin: Everybody be cool this is a robbery!

Недавно встретил фразу "This site is a keeper" в том контексте, что site стоит занести в Favorites и почаще там бывать.

:D Впрочем пошел я таки в кино, на "Pirates of the Caribbean".

Следуя Webstery (хотя Ниро Вульф и любил растапливать им камин, но все же)

keeper имеет несколько значений
1 : one that keeps: as a : PROTECTOR b : GAMEKEEPER c : WARDEN d : CUSTODIAN e chiefly British : CURATOR
2 : any of various devices for keeping something in position
3 a : one fit or suitable for keeping; especially : a fish large enough to be legally caught and kept b : a domestic animal considered with respect to how easy it is to care for *an easy keeper*
4 : an offensive football play in which the quarterback runs with the ball
соответственно 1 и 3 значения допустимы. Правильное следует из контекста, который не приведен.

If it is pleased to you,

I will now tell you of the "origions" of "she is a keeper"

Fishing. Fishing is the origions of "she is a keeper"

From "fishing" phrase is used to bring attention to "fish" that are 1) captured, kept, and taken home 2) too small, too large, wrong species, to be "thrown back" to the waters.

"She is a keeper" is phrase used to bring attention to the woman who like the fish in 1 is of desired quality

I hope this is understood,

Phrase "She is a keeper" compares woman to fish.

Fish are taken from the hook or tossed back to the river, no?

That is pretty clear. I was referring to your deft use of English language, in jest.

Deft or daft?

Anyway - your reply should have been:

That is being pretty clear. Your deft use of English language was referred to by me, in jest.

It is hoped by me that it is understood by you. :P

with the basics of Russian I am not taking Russian language classes
They are not offered at my school But the Russian speakers in the
language lab were kind to Me and gave Me this link after
interrogation:.mrgreyen: I have found much help here following
the links and cant help but to speak on occassion if I have the
correct answer from the english perspective Though I really have been
learning more about my own language and how to learn language from
this privet board I will support the board soon enough when I am able
I often have difficulty with my own language It is not hard to read
speak or write it but often its logic is full of fallacy and goes
against its own rules I am never offended with cracks at the english
language So often they are very true and good to hear Keep them coming

Welcome to Privet, Amber Morgan :) This is a place for everyone, so don't feel like you don't belong. Your input is always welcome, especially in Английский язык :) . In Русский и другие языки you can ask questions about Russian. You can try to find a conversation partner in the Ищу друзей section of the board. Don't hesitate to participate everywhere else - most of us understand English, and if you don't understand something - just ask. :D
