Everyone of us studied of course many subjects – foreign language or other humanitarian discipline (philosophy or history) as well as exact sciences (math\physics\chemistry). Then after passing many years we were astonished that we use very little amount of our gained knowledge in real life. Maybe we can be proud of our fundamental education. But was it our initial goal? Probably we started to identify ourselves with these imposed values which can compensate our aspiration to the personal success, well-being and comprehensive and harmonic prosperity. Or this non-practical broad knowledge proved to be our high-priority vital values and we believed in their benefit. It is a philosophical question and everyone decides how to answer it.
Anyway suggested new system does not diminish the goals of those who likes the classical education comprising a lot of theory as a fundamental basis by passing to the practical training. Moreover, MnemonokO is able to reinforce the theory so far as you need. And just shortage of practical education and self-education contributed to the creation of this system. MnemonikO takes for the educational basis only this information (vocabulary, grammar rules, correct answers to the exciting list of questions etc) which you or your teacher add(s) in it.
Of course it does not exclude the necessity of studying the basic vocabulary for everyone. For example, a barman going to Mallorca to communicate with German tourists as well as gifted informatics student taking part in student exchange project will need the same words. But both should choose the adequate information and concentrate only on language aspects of their immediate activity. «Life is short to study endless», it is a motto of MnemonikO system in our abundance information century.
Who was the system MnemonikO created for?
The system MnemonikO is suitable for deliberate self-sustained foreign languages and other subjects study demanding systematized material learning as well as for lessons with the teacher (private tutor) who has access to the system and can control the education process quality and is at the know how many foreign words you have gained ( studied), how many mistakes you have made and how much time you spend for tests. So with the help of the system MnemonikO you can appreciate the education result what makes it ideal for children education control by parents or teachers but the main thing – it is the honest self-control of your own lessons. Just a look at the statistics of your last month study helps you and your teacher understand your language learning efficiency.
The study in groups of the same level can be also productive, for example for distant education such as Skype etc. In such a way the tutor can appreciate better the quality of this or that material and choose the appropriate methods. S(he) can also manage the settings of time intervals when once right tested word should be repeated again taking into account individual memory possibilities of learners.
This system can also contribute to the effective preparation to the test exams where a list of questions (in the form of short texts) with the right answers is known beforehand.
How does the system MnemonikO work?
This system has been worked out on the basis of Java and Oracle web technologies. The database is accessible to a great amount of users and everybody can work reliable with the system independent of the other users. But the statistics of the education of the same topic users will be carried out separately for everybody for efficiency increase.

*****Groups:
When you login in MnemonikO and follow the link «improve\test your vocabulary» you go to the page of your groups. Every group corresponds with the separate language, subject or exam. But you can make several groups for different aspects of the same language. For example:
- My general German(English) vocabulary
- My professional (special) German(English) vocabulary
- My German (English) grammar.
With the help of link «Pick it up » (in the left column of groups: «Action») you can choose any of your groups for editing (button edit) or deleting (button delete). By pushing a button «insert» you make in your own database a new group with the options «group name», «group comment», «language 1»(German, English etc), « language 2» (your native, Russian).
There is also a possibility of creating a master-group by the teacher who makes it in his(her) database and then copies this group(new words) in word groups of his (her) sub-network.
*****Vocabulary to be learnt
Following the link «improve your vocabulary» you can insert or edit vocabulary to be learnt.
Option «pick it up » as well as buttons «edit» and «delete» work on the same way as for groups. By inserting a new pair of words you write a foreign word (for example German niemals ) in the window box 1 and its Russian translation (никогда) in the window box 2. Opposite the word niemals you can write a mnemo- hint to the word. (in this case : не говори\ ни-ни малец) for better remembering the word.
The authors of MnemonikO project suggest you should pay more attention to the creation of your own mnemonic hints (associations) especially for some difficult for memorizing words. The development of such creativity helps you in many spheres of your life.
****Test check of the words in groups:
Following the link «test your vocabulary» you will test your new inserted words as well as old (earlier tested) ones but the period for their next test has expired. You should only write the translation of the word in the column «test-word 2», then push the button «test the word» and wait to the system reaction. When your answer is correct you will see in the line «test result» - right, if your answer is incorrect - wrong. In this case the system increases in its database the counter of your right and wrong answers of its word. The system also keeps a record (in per cent) of your wrong answers register for the analytical appreciation: the leaner can have troubles with remembering of the word in general or s(he) can make 1-2 letter mistakes.
Option «date of the next test» can be theoretically changed by the users themselves but they are asked to follow the system’s suggestion. That is recording the number of your right and wrong answers of the word the period to the next test can be either increased or decreased in accordance to the special scheme. (This period can be multiplied or divided in 2).
If your answer is fully correct the wordlist-pool for today’s test decreases for 1 word. (See the line «count of words to be tested yet») After having tested one word enter the next word and so on. You should test your vocabulary every day but entirely and in both language directions. Achieve that in the end of your mnemo-test both word-pools should be empty (0\0).
