Just bought a new DV camcorder Canon XL1S. If someone owns it too please I would like to get your feedback on it. Thank you.

It's good, but you could get almost the same quality and features in GL2 for half the price unless you need changeable lenses.

It is not just interchangable lenses, it also a bigger CCD as well it is completely modular. GL2 is only 1 grand cheaper. I got my XL1s at $3400 fully loaded with extra batteries , filters, tapes

It's easy to find a GL-2 for under 2K. Its optics is so good that all you really need is a wide-angle adapter ($150). As for the larger CCD, marginal improvement in low light is not worth the huge price difference, IMHO. Also, inconspicuous look and portability of GL2 will speak volumes in the field. I am not criticizing your choice - I am sure you'd researched the subject well before the purchase.
