More like a hedge trade to complement short portfolio. I hope SPY will blow through 214 strike like knife through butter

Чем народ занят в етом скучном маркете?

Лично уменя без изменений Net-net, short SPY, QQQ, IWM, EWZ, TLT, XLE. Not getting paid, yet.
Сегодня, got long MCD. Sold few ATM put spreads to adjust portfolio delta. Looking for one more long position to fill up 200 SPY long deltas. Unfortunately missed CMG. Stock ran away from me and now its too late

Да, продавать бабочку не имеет большого смысла. Вопрос был о том что можно видоизменить на основе конструкции бабочки.
Для меня это как бы находка. Сообщу в конце недели когда будет результат.

There nothing you can do other than calendarise it ...... move at least one or both long calls to next expiration. Still don't like it. I never trade diagonals or calendars. It takes forever for them to move.

Sold call spreads in QQQ with 2 days to go 117,5/120 for 83 cents. Fishing for top

Вот мои 5 центов. Сегодняшний маркет - gift from the gods. We are range bound and slowly drifting higher. It gives us excellent opportunity to stay short and trade around the existing positions.

Everyone knows that one day we will wake up to 50 or 100 point gap to the downside. However, no one has any idea about the timing of this event and why it will happen. For this reason alone, you have to be short. In order to maintain the short position without losses, you have to trade around it. Today's market, allows us to do it easily. You just have to sell both sides and hope that your short strike get breached.

This is my today trades:

Short QQQ - 10 lots of 117.5/120 call spreads for 83 cents (Friday expiration)
Long SPY - 10 lots of 217.50/214.50 put spreads for 55 cents (Friday expiration)

I am hoping for 2 things to happen:

1. nothing happens and we stay in same range for another two days. If this happens, I am effectively reducing the basis for my short position
2. I am killed on my put spreads. In this case, my overall short portfolio will make significant profit.

I wouldn't mind this kind of environment until the end of the year.

I think that QQQ is at higher price extreme + my QQQ position is significantly smaller

Correction: both trades are September 2 expiration.
