As you probably heard, we are putting together a huge Revolution Party on October 27th at Slabtown (Downtown Portland - 1035 NW 16th Ave). Some people call it "the biggest Russian Party" and it is sort of true.
The idea to celebrate Halloween in Russian style and dedicate it to Red October Revolution of 1917th was brewing for a few years. But now we see the upcoming event as truly multicultural, multilingual, multimedia and multiREVOLUTIONAL Festival/Carnival/Debauchery/Party.
We are celebrating all the revolutions of any nation and any essence, since the World had many of them in the past and will have many in the future.
French, Chinese, American, Italian, Mexican, Cultural, Sexual, Flower, Technological, Singing, Number 9 are just few to name. Search www for more.
Pick one that you like and bring your ideas, your costume, and your artwork to the table.
Right now we have few live performers and 3 bands lined up, 4 DJ's are ready to spin super hot tunes, some artists are bringing their artwork, video imagery.
We are planning to have costume parade and contest, so we are asking people to be dressed as ready for revolution (of your choice) or simply red.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR REVOLUTION?
1. spread the word. forward the message. print out the attached file , cut it out and give it to your friends.
2. participate in costume parade. be creative, win a prize.
3. if you are an artist or a video artist - maybe you have some art or video work connected to a revolution theme?
4. help us decorate the space.
