Сухари сушить Мне кажется, что "...expedite the processing..." - это давление на этого самого бюрократа, что есть дело тонкое. На второй вопрос они ведь тоже могут ответить, что ждите, больше ничего не можем сказать. Т.е. я думаю, что если им есть что сказать, то они скажут, а если нет, то как не формулируй вопрос, они от него уйдут. Но я не претендую на лучшее написание

Да, соглашусь, что звучит грубовато - ваша злость видна (три раза, мол, уже ходили в ИНС!! ) и требование быстренько "аппрувнуть" Подобные письма к людям, от которых вы сильно зависите, желательно писать оооочень вежливо. Например, так:

It was a great pleasure having our AOS interview on October 11, 2005. As we have had no response from your agency as yet, we wonder if there is anything else that we should do to complete the processing of our application. We would greatly appreciate hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Если хотите положительный результат быстрее, нужно приглушить cвои эмоции и вполне объяснимое негодование и писать именно в таком тоне (максимально вежливо и уважительно) как вам предложила Аnushka.

Хорошо! Но я бы убрала "unfortunately" (это для автора - "unfortunately", а не для того, кто читать будет ) и фразу "The approval of this case is very important to us, so we would be glad to co-operate with you to make it happen" - это и так ясно, без этой фразы.

Это самый первый совет, который дается во всех инструкциях по написанию подобных писем: не выражать свои, пусть даже очень справедливые и понятные, но отрицательные эмоции в деловых - официальных письмах.
Вот, кстати, отличная книга, совершенно случайно в Costco купила за $10 - "How to say it", тоооолстая такая книжиша. Но чего там только нет - и не только о том, как правильно писать всевозможные письма - но даже как просить прибавку зарплаты, как правильно обшаться с начальством и коллегами по работе

Люди, не знаю как у вас с написанием писем, Но у нас в Лондоне я не усложняю такие вещи. Коротко и ясно и никаких эмоций, как в личной переписке, просто письменный запрос. И утверждение. Что ни фига вы ничеги не предприняли.
