CANBERRA, Australia - The U.S. military has tortured terrorist suspects held without charge at the Guantanamo Bay military prison, an Australian lawyer representing some of the suspects claimed Wednesday.
U.S.-based Richard Bourke, who has been working for almost two years on behalf of dozens of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, said American military officials were using old-fashioned torture techniques to force confessions out of prisoners.
The methods "clearly" fell under the definition of torture under international conventions, he told Australian Broadcasting Corp. radio in an interview from the United States.
"They are engaging in good old-fashioned torture, as people would have understood it in the Dark Ages," he said.

А интересно, выиграл бы прошлые выборы "замороженный" Гор всё по другому всё бы сделал. Может визы отменил бы. Или Налоги повысил бы (не то что этот гад Буш - понизил). Рецессии не было бы и в помине, в Гуантанамо открыли бы Диснейленд. Талибы открыли бы культурный центр на месте планово снесенных башен ВТС. Военшину бы прижал, и вообше, сидел бы и боялся, как бы не вышло чего.
А бяка Буш ни с того ни с сего начал на всех нападать и ущемлять свободы граждан. Теперь ату его! "А часовню тоже я?"

Боюсь, что до тех пор, пока мне не докажут что SUV - это плохо, я вполне могу считать все вышесказанное пустой болтовней .
Да Вы что? SUV тут это самое главное! Если бы американцы ездили на велосипедах, ну или там на трёхцилиндровых Фиатах и жили в крошечных апартментах, никто бы про них и не вспоминал. Китай или Индию же вот никогда не вспоминают. Там, наверное, образец демократии.
Некоторым сильно хочется, чтобы у американского соседа ко..., простите, SUV сдох. Они думают что лучше жить от этого сразу станут.
