on 6/28/04 I call the FBI in Newark, NJ to report it. They're not interested in a "low value" fraud and tell me to report it to the Internet Fraud Complaint Center
www.ic3.gov. But since that web site is generally for frauds that have already take place and this one is still in progress, so to speak, I decide to report it to the "Submit a Tip" page of the FBI web site
https://tips.fbi.govI explain the scam and provide all the details and offer to turn over the fake check and envelope it came in along with the e-mail trail.
Less than a day later, I receive this response from the FBI.

Я все-таки ответила этому Jibike Omoba что куплю билет и привезу собаку сама. Сказала что мы даже сэкономим деньги таким образом - round trip на самолете в Юту все же дешевле будет чем "компания-перевозчик" берет за свои услуги
Попросила его прислать свой адрес, после чего я сразу побегу заказывать билет
Вот уже два дня как товарищ Jibike Omoba канул в небытие после этого моего письма
И новости про собачку - ее забрали
Вчера мне позвонили по обьявлению в местной газете. Семейная пара, двое детей, у них уже есть одна овчарка, мальчик, кастрированный, так что брали собаку они не с целью разведения. Он сидел у них в машине - на вид вполне здоровый, так что скорее всего они будут хорошо заботится и об этой собачке. К тому же у них огороженный участок
Оставили адрес, так что может быть я ее навещу еще
) сами предлагают заплатить 
как хорошо что такую чудесную псинку пристроили
