College vs university vs school

Например, фразы "I leant it in college" vs "I learnt it in university" - есть ли какая-то разница?
Ещё заметил, иногда употребляют school в значении университет. Но не уверен, что во фразах выше - можно заменить.

Learned is the more common past tense and past participle of the verb learn. Learnt is a variant especially common outside North America. Еще institute есть типа CalTech или MIT.
